Overview
MultiView Recorder (the “App”) is a camera app that lets you record a video once and export it in multiple formats, record with the front and back cameras at the same time, and take photos. It is built to work entirely on your device.
The short version: we do not run servers, we do not create user accounts, we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and your videos and photos never leave your phone unless you choose to share or save them yourself. The only third party involved is RevenueCat, which manages in-app subscriptions.
Information we do not collect
The App does not collect, transmit or store on any server:
- Your videos, photos, audio recordings or thumbnails.
- Your name, email address, phone number or any account information (there are no accounts).
- Your precise or approximate location. Location metadata is not written into exported files.
- Your contacts, calendar, health data or any other data from other apps.
- Usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers or behavioural tracking data.
Camera and microphone
The App asks for camera and microphone permission so it can record video, capture photos and record audio with your videos. Camera and microphone data is processed on your device only: it is written to files inside the App’s private storage and is never uploaded anywhere by the App.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security. Without camera access the App cannot record.
Photo library
When you save an export, the App asks for permission to add items to your photo library. This permission is used only to write the videos and photos you explicitly choose to save. The App does not read, scan or index your existing photo library.
Data stored on your device
The following data is stored locally, in the App’s sandbox on your device, and nowhere else:
- Your recordings and photos, until you delete them from the App’s gallery.
- Recording metadata (duration, framing, creation date) used to display your gallery.
- Your settings, such as preferred quality, export resolution and last used camera mode.
Deleting your data
Deleting a recording in the App permanently removes its files from your device. Deleting the App removes all of its data, including recordings you have not exported. Videos and photos you saved to your photo library are managed by the Photos app and are not affected.
In-app purchases (RevenueCat and Apple)
Exporting videos requires a subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details.
To validate purchases and unlock features across reinstalls, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user identifier, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic device information (device model, OS version, app version, locale). This is the minimum information needed to confirm that a subscription is active. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email or any of your recordings.
RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy. Apple’s privacy policy is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Sharing
When you use the share button, the App hands the selected file to the iOS share sheet. What happens next is governed by the app or service you choose to share to, not by us.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal information at all, there is nothing for us to delete; if you believe a child has subscribed without permission, contact Apple Support to request a refund.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, requests to access, correct, export or delete your data are fulfilled entirely by you, on your device, as described above. If you have a question about your rights under GDPR, the UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws, or want to know what RevenueCat holds for your anonymous identifier, contact us and we will help.
Security
Your recordings are stored in the App’s private container, protected by iOS sandboxing and your device passcode and encryption. Communication with RevenueCat and Apple uses TLS.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes for the update that introduces them.
